Hours/week: Part-Time, up to 10 hours per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
Salary: This is an UNPAID position
Summary:
The Parent-Volunteer Proctor reports to the Librarian. The proctor sets up and supervises the classroom during the remote Library period for Grades 1-8 students on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (between 11:00am-2:25pm/3:20pm). The Proctor is responsible for ensuring appropriate behavior and safety of the students in the classroom, as well as assisting students if minor needs arise.
Job Responsibilities:
· Arrive in the classroom at least five minutes before Library period begins
· Set up, start, record, and post Zoom meetings
· Coordinate classroom activities between remote instructor, remote students, and in-person students
· Supervise and monitor the students to ensure appropriate behavior and safety
· Provide assistance to students if minor needs arise and contact Faculty or Administration if necessary
· Troubleshoot possible issues with Zoom, internet connection, or other technical components
· As a guest in the classroom, maintain confidentiality of students and classroom observations
· Make arrangements with the Librarian to ensure the classroom(s) are supervised in the event of a planned absence
Minimum Requirements:
· Candidate must be a parent or grandparent of a current Waldorf School of New Orleans student or Waldorf School of New Orleans alumni
· Candidate must have moderate technical knowledge of Zoom
· Candidate is required to attend in-person for their duties
· Candidate is required to comply with the Waldorf School of New Orleans ‘2020-21 Health & Safety Handbook (COVID-19) ‘, including, but not limited to, the following precautions:
o Abiding by the Mask Policy
o Participating in Health Screenings prior to entry into the building
o Following social distancing guidelines
o Taking everyday precautions to prevent the spread of respiratory disease
o Signing the ‘Internal Community Agreement’
