Introducing the New Face of WSNO Music

Meet our new Music Specialist, Jelani Akil Bauman. He comes to us with a wealth of accomplishments that span the globe. His stints as Artist in Residence at Qatar Academy Doha and The Sanford Arts Council in North Carolina show what a widely recognized talent Mr. Bauman is. He has spent a lifetime studying Jazz, earning his undergraduate degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, and completing his graduate studies at Michigan State University. He has taught workshops in Jazz as well as working as a graduate assistant to pass his knowledge on to the next generation of aspiring musicians.

Mr. Bauman is also an accomplished composer, including working with the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston to create musical work inspired by "Fresh Ink: Ten Takes on Chinese Tradition."

We are excited to start this new school year with such amazing talent and are thrilled to welcome Mr. Bauman to the Waldorf School of New Orleans family.
